Draw a flat roof waterproofing detail
Parapet upstand, rainwater outlet, overflow, expansion joint, patio door threshold: the trade blocks are in the library, insulation and vapour barrier have their own style, and the section is dimensioned in real millimetres.

A waterproofing upstand in three steps
- 1
Build up the roof
Deck, vapour barrier, insulation, membrane, protection: one layer per rectangle, each with its material, the insulation drawn the way your engineering office draws it.
- 2
Place the blocks
Coping, flashing strip, rainwater outlet, overflow, expansion joint, paving support, rooflight, roof penetration, verge strip: placed, rotated, flipped and scaled in one click.
- 3
Dimension the upstand height
Vertical dimension pre-filled at true size for the upstand height, numbered markers to the legend, then export to SVG or PNG for the file.
Built for roofing contractors
The trade's own blocks
Thirteen blocks drawn at scale 1 (screw, anchor, post, rainwater outlet, overflow, coping, flashing strip, expansion joint, paving support, rooflight, vent cowl, threshold, roof penetration, verge strip), editable after placement.
A readable build-up
Every layer keeps its standard material and real thickness. Insulation shows as loops, waves, crosses, zigzag, hatching or blanket, to match your habits.
A clean detail for the as-built file
300 dpi PNG export for the as-built record or an email to the project manager, SVG to embed in a larger sheet.
A file you reopen
The sheet is saved in the native vector format: the same detail is reused on the next site by changing two dimensions.
Common junctions
- Parapet upstand with coping
- Rainwater outlet and overflow
- Expansion joint on a flat roof
- Patio door threshold on an accessible terrace
- Rooflight and vent penetration
- Roof edge and verge strip
Frequently asked questions
Do the blocks comply with roofing codes?
The blocks are graphic representations of the usual flat roof components. Upstand heights, falls and laps remain your responsibility: the editor draws what you dimension, it does not check the rule.
Can I draw a pitched roof?
Yes. Free polygons, lines at any angle, orthogonal mode that can be switched off: a roof edge or a sloped penetration is drawn like a vertical upstand.
How do I reuse a detail from one site to the next?
Save the sheet as .fsdt.json and reopen it: every value stays editable, you only change the dimensions and the title block.
Which exports are included?
SVG and 300 dpi PNG with the Essential plan, like the PDFs of the other modules. Saving the native file is free for every account.
