Can you convert a scanned plan (image) to DXF?

Yes โ€” it's actually where AI makes the biggest difference. Detection works on the plan image: a scan, a photo or an old digitized paper plan yields the same semantic, layered DXF as a vector PDF. One legible dimension is enough to calibrate the scale in real meters.

DXF or DWG: what's the difference for AutoCAD?

DWG is Autodesk's proprietary format, DXF its open exchange format โ€” AutoCAD opens both natively and converts one to the other with a save-as. A clean, layered DXF is therefore directly usable, and compatible with Allplan, ArchiCAD, BricsCAD and most CAD software.
