Why facade takeoff still takes a day
On a facade job the price hangs on the net area: the wall minus windows, doors, balconies and shutter boxes. That calculation is still done on site, then by hand in a spreadsheet, opening by opening. A four-storey elevation with twelve windows is an hour of typing and as many chances to slip a decimal.
FloorScan does that work on the image. What photo should I take?
A photo taken as square-on to the facade as possible, with the whole elevation in frame. One known dimension (a door width, a floor height) sets the scale. An elevation PDF works too and is more accurate, since the perspective is already corrected.
The AI gets a window wrong, what then?
You fix it in the editor: move, resize, retype or delete it, and draw a missing opening by hand. Areas and linears recompute on every change, there is no manual recalculation to trigger.
Does it handle several elevations of one building?
Yes, each elevation is analyzed separately and lands in the same project: you add up the net areas of all four orientations for a full facade job while keeping the per-elevation detail in the exports.
