The contractor's quote claims 42 m² of paint, the policyholder talks about two rooms, the adjuster has a plan and a visit. The argument turns on quantities neither side can support, and is usually settled by attrition rather than on the merits.
Measuring the plan puts a verifiable number on the table: floor area of each affected room, perimeter for the skirting, wall faces at the observed height. The debate becomes technical again, and the report carries the trace of the calculation.

Adjusters' questions
Does the estimate count as a contradictory valuation?
It is your valuation, based on measured quantities and prices you set. The tool does not say what is covered or at what rate: it gives you defensible square metres and a price base you adjust to the local market.
What if only part of a room is affected?
You draw the affected zone by hand on the plan and get its area. The manual takeoff module is made for exactly that: measuring an arbitrary footprint rather than the whole room.
Can I keep a history of my files?
Yes, every analysis is saved as a project, findable by name. A file that comes back two years later reopens with its plan, its areas and its estimate, which avoids starting over on an old dispute.
