What elements can an AI detect on a floor plan?
Production models detect load-bearing walls and partitions, doors (with their swing direction), windows, rooms with their use, and the building footprint. From these they derive areas in m², perimeters, wall linears and opening counts — all with a per-element confidence score.
Why do generic models fail on French plans?
Because they're trained on mostly North American or Scandinavian corpora: different drawing conventions, wall thicknesses, door symbols and dimensioning habits. A model that performs well on CubiCasa5K can collapse on a French building permit plan. The remedy: fine-tuning on annotated local plans.
Can AI analyze a site plan or a facade?
