Measure any PDF floor plan
right in your browser
Distances, wall linears, perimeters, areas: upload a PDF plan or an image, the scale sets itself automatically, and every measurement takes two clicks — no AutoCAD, no install. The AI pre-measures the whole plan (rooms, partitions, openings) before your first click.
Per distance measurement — with automatic orthogonal snapping
Scale detected from the PDF's dimensions or title block
100% browser-based — works on site from a tablet
Faster than a ruler, more reliable than eyeballing
You've received a PDF plan and need three measurements to quote: the corridor length, the linear meters of partitions to demolish, the living-room area. Opening AutoCAD for that is overkill — and measuring on screen with a ruler, approximate. FloorScan sets the plan's scale automatically, then every click-drag gives a distance in real meters, with orthogonal snapping to follow walls cleanly.
And because the AI has already analyzed the plan, you start with every structural measurement included: each room's area, load-bearing and partition wall linears, door/window counts, perimeters. Your manual measurements stack on top, and everything exports — Excel for the quote, annotated PDF for the client, DXF for the design office.
Everything you can measure
Point-to-point distances
Click, drag: the distance shows in real meters, with horizontal/vertical snapping (Shift).
Free-zone areas
Draw a polygon over any zone: its area in m² computes instantly.
Pre-computed linears
Load-bearing walls and partitions already measured by the AI — demolition takeoff starts a step ahead.
On-plan annotations
Every measurement stays displayed on the plan and lands in the annotated PDF report.
2-click scale calibration
Doubting the auto scale? Click two points of a known dimension, enter the value — everything recalibrates.
Quote-ready export
Manual + AI measurements in the same Excel: columns ready for your unit prices.
Frequently asked — plan measurement
How is the scale determined?
Automatically, in order of reliability: vector dimensions read in the PDF, the 1:S scale declared in the title block, standard door widths. You see which method was used and its confidence score, and you can always recalibrate manually — 2-point calibration or known total area.
Does it work on a tablet, on site?
Yes — FloorScan runs entirely in the browser, no install. On a tablet, zoom and pan work with fingers and measurements with stylus or touch. Your sessions follow you across devices: prepare at the office, verify on site.
How is this different from Adobe Acrobat's measure tool?
Acrobat requires you to know and type the scale by hand, only measures what you click, and understands nothing about the plan. FloorScan detects the scale itself, pre-measures the entire plan (every room's area, every wall's linear, counts) and you only add the specific measurements by hand. The outcome: a structured Excel export, not a screenshot.
