Photo to AutoCAD

From a simple plan photo to an editable AutoCAD DXF

The plan is on paper, on a wall or on a screen? Photograph it with your phone - no scanner needed. FloorScan's AI reads the photo, straightens the perspective, detects walls, doors, windows and rooms, then exports a multi-layer DXF at real scale, ready for AutoCAD. Redrawing by hand takes hours; a photo takes 30 seconds.

A smartphone photo is enough - no scanner, no vector file, no CAD

Native DXF

AutoCAD layers (walls, doors, windows) in real meters, $INSUNITS=6

AutoCAD can't understand a photo - FloorScan can

A phone photo is distorted, shot at an angle, unevenly lit: importing it as an underlay in AutoCAD just gives you a fuzzy image you still have to trace over by hand. FloorScan does the opposite: the AI first straightens the perspective, then recognizes the building objects - load-bearing walls, partitions, doors with their swing, windows, named rooms - and exports them as real CAD entities, not pixels.

No scale on the photo? FloorScan infers it from standard door widths, or you set it in two clicks on a known dimension - or by entering the property's total area. The exported DXF is in real meters, ready for AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Revit or QGIS, with DWG available in one click. And the built-in editor lets you fix a missed wall before export.

From photo to DWG, no redrawing

Any photo

Smartphone, tablet, screenshot: the AI works on the image and straightens the perspective automatically.

Perspective correction

Photo shot at an angle or distorted? FloorScan straightens it before detecting walls and openings.

Semantic recognition

Load-bearing vs partition walls, doors with swing, windows, named rooms - objects, not strokes.

Native AutoCAD export

Multi-layer DXF in real meters, $INSUNITS=6, DWG in one click - opens straight in AutoCAD.

Scale in 2 clicks

No dimension on the photo? Calibrate on a known distance or enter the total area.

Correction editor

Add a missed wall, remove a false door before export - undo/redo included.

Frequently asked - photo to AutoCAD

Is a photo taken with my phone really enough?

Yes, if the plan is shot straight-on, fully in frame and well lit. FloorScan straightens small perspective distortions automatically. The sharper and more contrasted the linework, the better the detection - and the built-in editor catches doubtful areas before export.

Does the file really open in AutoCAD?

Yes. The export is a native DXF with separate layers (walls, partitions, doors, windows, footprint), in real meters and $INSUNITS=6 - it opens as-is in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Revit or QGIS. DWG is available in one click from the same screen.

My photo has no dimension or scale, does it still work?

Yes. FloorScan first estimates the scale from standard door widths (90 cm), then you refine it in one click: calibrate on a known distance, or enter the property's total area - everything recalibrates automatically.
